Just hours after making history aboard Blue Origin’s all-female spaceflight, pop icon Katy Perry faced a terrifying health scare that left her fans—and husband Orlando Bloom—reeling.

On April 14, 2025, Katy Perry soared into the cosmos aboard Blue Origin’s New Shepard 31, joining an elite crew of six women, including Lauren Sánchez and Gayle King. The 11-minute suborbital journey marked the first all-female spaceflight since 1963, offering a brief but profound experience of weightlessness and a view of Earth from 66 miles above. 

Perry, ever the performer, serenaded her fellow astronauts with “What a Wonderful World” while holding a daisy—a heartfelt tribute to her daughter, Daisy Dove. 

While Blue Origin remains tight-lipped about ticket prices, estimates suggest that a seat on such a voyage costs around €475,000 (approximately $500,000).  For Perry and Bloom, the investment was more than monetary—it was a testament to their shared dreams and aspirations.

Upon returning home, the celebration was short-lived. Perry began experiencing dizziness and, moments later, collapsed. Bloom, visibly shaken, recounted the harrowing experience:

Emergency services were called immediately, and Perry was rushed to the hospital. Medical professionals are currently conducting a series of tests to determine the cause of her sudden collapse.

This isn’t the first time Perry has faced a sudden health issue. In 2020, during an “American Idol” audition, she fainted due to a gas leak on set. She later expressed gratitude to the first responders who assisted her.
