NFL Legend’s Strong Retirement Message for Travis Kelce as Patrick Mahomes Clears Stance on Chiefs TE’s Future

A brutal first half dashed all the hopes of the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday. They failed to achieve the NFL’s first historic three-peat, as the Philadelphia Eagles crushed them with 18 points. Now as the season has ended, it has raised questions about Travis Kelce’s future, who was seen missing a few catches in the Super Bowl LIX game.
NFL legend, Ryan Clark, who played safety for 13 seasons in the league, gave his opinion on Travis Kelce’s retirement rumors. And let us tell you, it is somewhat arguably brutal! On ESPN, Clark said, “[Continuing his career) is going to be based on whether or not Travis Kelce understands he’s a diminished player and is comfortable with that.” Not only that!
The ex-NFLer further compared Travis Kelce’s playing ability to TE’s brother, Jason Kelce. He said, “Isn’t Travis sort of in the same place our colleague and friend, his brother, Jason Kelce was in last year, still feeling like you can still do it and you still have it, but you know, you don’t have it like you used to.” Kelce’s four catches for 39 yards in the Super Bowl game have raised questions about his future.
His brother, Jason Kelce too, who lost in last year’s playoff game, retired shortly after the season ended. His decision came after his 117-87-1 record in regular and playoff games. Similarly, people are thinking that younger brother Travis Kelce should also retire soon, especially after the Super Bowl LIX failure
In addition, Mahomes added that Travis Kelce has done a great job and deserves to be the gold jacket guy and a first-ballot Hall of Famer. No doubt Kelce loves football, but his decision to come back and play totally depends on him. And he thinks he still has football left in him. This is evident from Kelce’s statement that he said ahead of the Super Bowl – “I love doing this. I love coming into work every day. I feel like I still have a lot of good football left in me. We’ll see what happens.”
