The tennis star turned the big 2-0 on Wednesday, and celebrated her 20th birthday like a true water sign with a jump into the ocean.
Gauff, who is currently competing in the Indian Wells Open near Palm Springs, shared the fun moment with fans writing, “20! Just a Pisces in her natural habitat,” adding a wave emoji.
Gauff said, “I’ve been beyond blessed in this life and I am so thankful to have made it this far,” in her caption before thanking everyone who sent her birthday wishes.
Gauff’s recent doubles partner and competitor Jessie Pegula commented, “How did I not realize we are both Pisces???”
WNBA legend Lisa Leslie commented on Gauff’s post, writing, “Happy birthday Coco! Stay blessed without stress,” The Tennis Channel celebrated Gauff’s birthday with her during a sweet on-air segment. The US Open champion was surprised with a pink cake, complete with 20 candles, which Gauff promptly bit into without the help of any utensils.
“There we go! Well done,” the channel’s host said with a laugh as Gauff bit into her cake. “It’s good,” Gauff said after getting a taste of her birthday cake.
The US Open champion has been on a winning streak at Indian Wells this week, earning victories in her last three singles matches. She easily beat Elise Mertens 6-0, 6-2 on her birthday, and will next face China’s Yuan Yue on Thursday.
