Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have touched down in Nigeria, following the Duke of Sussex’s solo trip to the UK.

The pair are embarking on a quick 72-hour tour of the African nationBoth Meghan and Harry hopped on the

overnight British Airways flight to Abuja. Their journey experienced a delay due to the scheduled pilot falling ill and the need for a replacement report enjoyed the comforts of First Class,

separated from other passengers by a curtain. Upon their arrival in Abuja, other travellers were held back as the royal couple were escorted off the plane.

They were greeted by Nigerian officials in Abuja, where they were whisked away through a side door onto the jetty and into a waiting minibus.

This visit follows Harry’s brief sojourn to London, where he did not meet upMeghan chose to stay behind at their American residence during Harry’s UK trip. The couple are being accompanied in

Nigeria by the same security team that had travelled with Harry to the UK. With Harry and Meghan now in Nigeria, they have a jam-packed itinerary.

Harry and Meghan will visit the country’s military headquarters and promote the Invictus Games during their trip.

On Friday, the couple will visit Lagos following their trip to the Nigerian Defence Headquarters.

Nigerian officials said the couple’s trip will last until Monday, and a royal representative for the couple confirmed that members of the media will also be joining them on the trip.

While in Nigeria, the pair will watch a volleyball game, and visit military hospitals and charities in Abuja and Lagos.

The Defence HQ revealed their itinerary in a press conference on Thursday, saying they are also scheduled to meet injured armed forces personnel and their families.

The couple were invited to Nigeria by the Chief of Defence Staff, General

Christopher Musa, who met Harry last September at the games in Dusseldorf, Germany. Air Vice Marshal Abidemi Marquis, the director of sports at the Nigerian

Defence Ministry, said in a press briefing on Facebook Live on Thursday, that Harry and Meghan would visit the Wuse Light Academy before seeing Nigeria’s security chief.

Harry and Meghan will also be visiting the Nigerian Army Reference Hospital in Kaduna state to spend time with recovering soldiers. On Saturday, they are set to participate in a novelty volleyball match between

The Chief of Defence Staff team and the Duke’s team, followed by a reception where they’ll mingle with families of the soldiers, loved ones of fallen officers, and other service members.

Their itinerary also includes a visit to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State on Sunday, and attending a

basketball exhibition match at a local school. Their visit will conclude with a final reception on Monday.
