Floyd Mayweather Picks Up 6-Figure Bag as Distrust Against Patrick Mahomes Pays Off at Super Bowl

The Super Bowl always guarantees certain things. Entertainment, action, a magnificent half-time show, and Floyd Mayweather getting into crazy wagers that normal people can’t even fathom. Every year when Super Sunday rolls around, the boxing legend shows us mortals why he is called ‘Money’. Super Bowl LIX was no different as the Philadelphia Eagles tried to stop the Kansas City Chiefs’ three-peat and take revenge for their 2023 loss.
For Mayweather, it was once again a choice between either choosing Patrick Mahomes or going against him. It was quite a tough choice as the last time the undefeated boxer wagered against ‘Showtime’ and chose Eagles, he lost a $10,000 wager. But this time around, he hit the game right on the nose.
Despite suffering a loss by waging against Mahomes last time, the ‘Money Mayweather’ did not care. He chose Jalen Hurts to avenge his 2023 loss; and as luck would have it, it was the right decision. Eagles completely outclassed the Chiefs and won the NFL Championship 40-22. It was a complete domination to kill the Kansas City Chiefs’ reign.
It looked like Floyd Mayweather already knew the script as he made two wagers on the Eagles. He backed ‘The Birds’ 1/2 point against the Chiefs in the first half and put a $40,000 bet on them at odds of minus-135. Well, as the Eagles opened up a 24-0 lead with a minute to play in the first half, it allowed the 50-0 boxer to earn a profit of $29,629. The second bet was on the result of the game and once again, the 47-year-old put $30,000 on Eagles at the odds of minus-103. This wager netted him a profit of $29,126. Not bad at all, wouldn’t you say?
As everyone knows, Floyd Mayweather is not a modest man. While most people like to hide such earnings, the legendary boxer unabashedly flaunted his profits on Instagram. He uploaded both winning tickets on his Instagram profile, showing evidence of his total earnings of $128,755. While it was not as big as his last year’s wager, where he took home $203,000, it was still a good day at the office for ‘Money’ and of course the Eagles. We can’t say the same thing about Patrick Mahomes, thought.
