Donald Trump’s hand bruise draws comparisons to Queen Elizabeth’s mark two days before her death; White House addresses health concerns

Donald Trump’s latest public appearance has reignited speculation about his health after cameras captured a dark bruise on his right hand, drawing eerie comparisons to a mark once noticed on Queen Elizabeth II’s hand just days before her death.

The Mark That Won’t Go Away

The former president, 79, was photographed during an Oval Office meeting with the discoloration clearly visible. Observers quickly noted that it looked strikingly similar to the purple blotch spotted on the late Queen’s hand in September 2022, only 48 hours before her passing at age 96.

The image spread across social media within hours, with commentators pointing out the uncanny resemblance and asking whether Trump may be facing a more serious underlying health issue.

White House Plays Down Concerns

The White House, however, moved swiftly to calm speculation. Officials insisted the bruise was nothing more than a side effect of routine handshakes and blood-thinning medication, which Trump reportedly takes daily.

Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt explained that Trump suffers from Chronic Venous Insufficiency (CVI) — a condition common in older adults where weakened veins can cause swelling and easier bruising. His physician, Captain Sean Barbabella, assured reporters that the issue is “benign and not life-threatening.”

Comparisons Fuel Conspiracy Theories

Still, the comparison to Queen Elizabeth has fueled whispers online. At the time, Buckingham Palace had described her bruise as “a common sign of aging” — but her death followed shortly after. Critics argue that the White House is attempting to downplay what could be a more serious vascular or circulatory issue.

Doctors unaffiliated with Trump’s care have suggested other possible causes, such as IV injections, skin fragility due to age, or even undiagnosed vascular disease.

Previous Attempts to Conceal It

This isn’t the first time Trump’s hand has made headlines. In recent weeks, photographers caught him trying to hide the discoloration under mismatched foundation makeup — a move that only heightened scrutiny. Others noted swelling in his ankles and legs during official events, sparking further debate about the state of his health.

What It Could Mean Going Forward

At nearly 80 years old, Trump’s fitness remains a subject of intense public interest as he campaigns for another term in the White House. While his medical team insists the bruise is harmless, the visual reminder — paired with the haunting comparison to Queen Elizabeth — ensures that questions about his health will not fade away anytime soon.
